Brian Wilson, the leader of the Beach Boy band, is one of, if not the the most important icons of the musical world. Not only did he lead one of the most successful bands in the wold, but he was one of the most creative and inspirational singing recorders ever to walk the face of the earth. How could someone who wrote so many top hits in America’s musical charts, not be important? He also played with various famous singers such as Van Dyke and Leanard Bernstein. He even inspired one of the future best band, The Beatles. The Beach Boys sang for many fourth of july concerts as well in celebration of America’s independence from England. They even shook hands and became friends with the president of America. But even more, Brian and his band showed the world of music and many upcoming rock bands that though individually you may be able to play good, as a group you can combine your individual skills and be awesome.

Midi Why have we come so far in the modern world of musical recording? It’s all thanks to something we now call midi, or musical instrument digital interface. If it wasn’t for midi, today’s popular songs and iPod apps such as the T-Pain voice changer would not even exist.  But what exactly does midi do for an aspiring recording artist?    It was with the use of midi, that a recording artist could record music, replay, add to, and modify their primary piece of music. By using various sounds saved as samples on midi, one could create songs with instruments that play and sounds better than ones played in real life. Through midi, artists wouldn’t have to repeat performing their songs over and over again. Through midi, they could fix their mistakes and even enhance their voice or instrument playing in various ways.  As soon as the word got out, almost every music studio in America, took advantage of midi. It was crazy that you could record a past artist’s instrumentals and tune it up to liking. There was never anything like, it and when it came into the musical world, it came as a storm. Midi is now basically a necessity to the modern hip hop and rap world.  Today, many songs still carry on the basic instrumentals of artists in the past. In this sense, midi shows present listeners that, the old artists paved the way for today’s young artists. For in almost every song made today, the essence of an older song is present.

Les Paul dedication Who is Les Paul? What has he done for the music industry?  A man withered by a number of fights with father time, is what most people who see him would think. But anyone who has met and listened to what he had to say, would say he is a man who knows of no obstacle that can stop him from doing what he does best. This man’s name is Les Paul, and he plays the guitar very well. In fact he plays so well, that he can be called one of the best guitar players of the music world.   He has been known for being very creative as a little boy, and continued to invent fabulous changes for the better of the music world. He changed the classic regular wooden guitar by inventing the solid body guitar.  Which is widely used by many guitar players around the world. By creating a more solid body guitar, he created a louder and more full bodied sound. Creating a guitar that gives off a sound with better quality and better sounding. Not only did he change the appearance of the guitar and how they sound, but he also changed the way they could be recorded and replayed. His methods of replaying, enhancing and changing the overall sound of his songs, he enhanced the music for his various listeners. In this way he revolutionized the music industry and the way future music would sound. Todays Hiphop and Rap music would definitely not be what it is today, if it was not for the contributions that Les paul had made.
